We wish you all a Happy New Year and a successful season 2009. In Norway a lot of snow has been falling during the last weeks and it is real winter on the Gaula at the moment
but we only have to wait a little more than 4 months until we can start the new season.
During the hard winter time our thoughts go back in the river every day, we cannot wait to cast out the newly tied tube flies in hope to hook one of Gaulas silver beauties during the bright Norwegian nights
as well from the local newspaper: It reports for 2008 a total Gaula rod catch of 42 tons
of salmon, which is an excellent catch result, especially if one considers the stronger angling restrictions which were established before last season. The newspaper claims, that the Gaula was again the best salmon river in the whole of Norway
for sport fishing in 2008.
This is a fantastic result and gives us high hopes for the upcoming season 2009. There is little doubt that the restrictions of the commercial net fishing at sea has permitted a much higher number of fish to reach the rivers and spawning grounds. The delay of the bag net fishing start by 3 weeks in the inner Trondheim Fjord and by 5 weeks at the outer coastline has been very beneficial for the wild salmon population. The Gaula had a record spawning season.
We still have several vacant rods
during the whole season, even some during the prime weeks. Use your chance and join us fishing during season 2009

Best wishes from
