Weeks 30 – Despite low water conditions, some great fish were landed!

First of all, we would like to apologize for not updating the website the past few week. Unfortunately, we have had some technical problems with our website, but the “bugs” have been worked out, and the site is up and running again.

We know most of you are following us on Facebook and Instagram as well, so hopefully you are up to date already. But we do like to keep our website up to date, so here are the reports from the last few weeks.

Week 30 started off with very low water, so our Scottish group which arrived had really tough conditions during the whole week. Regardless of the challenging fishing conditions, they managed to catch a couple of nice fish. For example, our regular guest, and Scotland’s National Youth Casting Champion, Blaine Lyon was able to catch the first fish on our Rønningen Pool just upstream our Lodge.

Blaine with a nice fish of about 3,5kg (7.7lb).

As well as his uncle Colin Lyon got a nice grilse during the week in Beat BS1.

But luckily it was not only grilse which were been caught during the week. Some larger sized fish came from the same pool, B1 (Langøy),  from Jack Christinson who caught 2 fish of 6,3kg (13.9lb) and another 6kg (13.2lb). As well as his fishing partner Steven Humle who managed to catch another good fish in our Bua Bridge Pool of 4,6kg (just above 10lb).

Patriarch of the Lyon clan, Stuart caught two nice grilse during the week, and well as several other fishermen in the group who were able to land fresh grilse. Then it was David Orsler who was able to land a nice fish of about 6kg in Beat B1.

Due to the challenging fishing conditions this week presented, there was much time to enjoy the lodge, the food and the good company. The group of Scotsmen lead by the Lyon Boys was a hell lot of fun and we really enjoyed a great time even though fishing left something to be desired. From all of us at the Norwegian Flyfishers Club, we truly enjoyed the company of so many talented salmon anglers, and tellers of tall tales!

Stuart Lyon at his best – telling some stories which always seem to end with a big laugh!

Thanks again for wonderful week! We hope to see many of you back next season or in the following!

Sincerely,

your team of the

Norwegian Flyfishers Club
