Our salmon season ended on 31st of August. As most of you know already, we experienced a really good season with a lot of nice and exceptional catches throughout the whole season. 2022 was a wet summer, so water levels have been great almost all season and our guests have fished Gaula in great conditions.
We caught way over 400 fish on the NFC Beats and this year and our Beats in the Støren area fished very well – a feeling of the “good old times” for many regulars and staff. The upper parts started a bit slower and later than in other seasons, and in the lower river we had a great time especially in the first couple of weeks. Overall – it was a great season with plenty of nice salmon and also some very good sea trout – it seems they come back in numbers and as well in size!
It was a pleasure to see the Lodge running fully booked and seeing all our international guests again after 2 years.
Due to the strong demand for next season we are already booked in most prime weeks in 2023 – but a few openings are still available.
Also August is not fully booked yet, and since we had some really good fishing in parts of August it is well worth to think about a trip to get some late season fishing secured. Often the big fish start moving again and its great fun fishing for those big salmon with a bit lighter tackle than during the opening weeks.
Please get in touch if you have not planned your fishing trip yet – we are happy to try our best to accommodate you.
Once again we would like to thank all our guests of the 2022 season for another great season on our favorite river – the mighty Gaula! We are looking forward to season 2023 already and can’t wait to get back there.
Sincerely,
your team of the
Norwegian Flyfishers Club
